On our arrival in Beijing, we met up with around 15 other families, all Canadian who had adopted children of various ages (range from 13 Mths to 13.5 years old). It was very nice to see that the children all appeared to be quite well adjusted to their new families. We had a quick picture and than traveled by bus to the Summer Palace. Being Saturday afternoon in the summer, it was packed with people but beautiful nonetheless.

Today, we visited the Great Wall. This was a huge source of excitement for Alex who was absolutely blown away by the magnitude of it. It was very hot and of course we climbed it around noon because as everyone knows, it's way more fun to do strenuous climbs in the hottest part of the day! The girls were troopers, Alex was insistent that we climb as high as we could in the time we had... John carried Nicole who was really not impressed with the heat and crowds on the way up but emotionally turned herself off by falling asleep on the way down! Of course, I kept reminding John that carrying dead weight in extreme heat was a character building experience! I am not sure he agreed with me...

Tomorrow we visit the Beijing Zoo. There are Pandas there! In the evening we are going to see the Chinese Acrobats. My only hope is that it doesn't give Alex any ideas about twirling plates on sticks!!
beautiful! What an experience. Ray says Adele should take up comedy writing. So happy to hear from you today, and enjoy. Love mom and ray. P.s kisses to the girls.

Great updates, Adele....I can imagine your voice reciting your eloquent and vividly sarcastic (at times) updates. I love Nicole's spunky spirit. I can't wait to see you all and finally meet the munchkin. Hugs to the girls, and let Alex know that she's doing a stellar job as big sis. XO
